Stand out in a crowd
You've probably realised by now just how competitive the graduate job market is. For every vacancy there are many graduate applicants. So how do you stand out in a crowd? Well it helps if you know what recruiters are looking for - in a nutshell, they are looking for graduates who will add value to an organisation. Graduates are not expected to know everything on day one, but they are expected to pick things up quickly and be able to contribute soon after joining a company. There are many opportunities for graduates in IT, but those graduates who can demonstrate practical, useful IT skills to recruiters will always stand out from those who can't.
6 weeks free training, giving practical skills to grads
If you are unemployed graduate with a strong interest in working in IT, you can apply for a place on JBC's 6 week graduate programme. You don't have to be an IT or Computer Science graduate, but you must have an aptitude for IT. The training is practical and hands-on, you will learn how to install and administer computer systems for real - not just the theory. These practical skills will compliment the learning you have acquired during your degree to make you much more employable to an IT recruiter.
Business like, not like Uni
The JBC programme is intensive and designed to prepare you for working in the IT industry. You must present yourself professionally at all times and wear business attire. During your training you will learn new IT skills, such as how to set-up an email server; you will then have time to practice these new skills before you are assessed to demonstrate you are competent. Alongside your practical training you will also receive career coaching to help and support you into finding an IT job that's right for you: that's things like getting your CV in order, improving your interview technique and helping you find vacancies with employers and recruiters.
